Pentosan Polysulfate reconstitution calculator

Pre-filled for a 100 mg Pentosan Polysulfate vial with 2 mL of BAC water: 50,000 mcg/mL, or 500 mcg per unit on a U-100 syringe. Change the vial or water to match yours, and add an amount to see the units to draw.

How the Pentosan Polysulfate math works

A 100 mg vial holds 100,000 mcg of Pentosan Polysulfate. Adding 2 mL of bacteriostatic water spreads that over 2 mL, so the solution is 100,000 ÷ 2 = 50,000 mcg per mL. A U-100 insulin syringe has 100 units per mL, so each unit is 0.01 mL and holds 50,000 × 0.01 = 500 mcg.

To turn an amount into units, divide it by the amount per unit. The calculator above does this for you, and warns you when a draw is too small to measure or bigger than the syringe.

Pentosan Polysulfate concentration by vial size and water volume

Each cell shows the concentration and how much one U-100 unit holds. The app's reference lists 2 mL for a 100 mg vial.

Before you reconstitute

Check the vial label for the actual amount of peptide, because the calculation depends on it. Use an insulin syringe marked U-100 so that 100 units equal 1 mL, and write down how much water you added so the concentration is known later.

Frequently asked questions

How much BAC water goes in a 100 mg Pentosan Polysulfate vial?

The reconstitution reference in the PeptidesAI app lists 2 mL for a 100 mg vial, which makes 50,000 mcg/mL. The water volume is a choice, not a fixed rule: more water makes a weaker solution and larger draws, and the total amount of peptide in the vial stays the same.

How much is one unit of Pentosan Polysulfate on an insulin syringe?

It depends on the concentration. A 100 mg vial with 2 mL of water is 50,000 mcg/mL, so one unit on a U-100 syringe (0.01 mL) holds 500 mcg. The table on this page shows other vial and water combinations.

What vial sizes does Pentosan Polysulfate come in?

The PeptidesAI app lists 100 mg vials for Pentosan Polysulfate. Use the calculator's vial field for any other size.

Does this calculator tell me how much to use?

No. It converts an amount you already have into syringe units and millilitres. It does not suggest an amount, and nothing on this page is medical advice.
